Our Mission
At Reptile Rescue of Wisconsin, Inc, our mission is to provide a safe alternative for reptile owners to bring their beloved reptiles when they are no longer able to care for them properly. By providing this safe alternative we save the reptiles’ lives by preventing them from being released into the local wildlife ecosystem and becoming an invasive species.

Our Story
Reptile Rescue of Wisconsin, Inc. was established on June 25, 2020.
This was during the heart of the pandemic, upon opening our doors and waiting for our IRS approval as a registered 501c3, we received phone calls, emails, and text messages asking us to take in many reptiles that owners could not afford to keep due to the pandemic. We did not realize the need for our facility upon creating the idea until we opened and were flooded with reptiles of all species and sizes. We have now since been able to open a better suited store front facility and we are going on six (6) years strong.
Our Team
Our team is made up of dedicated volunteers, with different levels of experience working with and caring for reptiles. Each team member volunteers their time and experience to care for the reptiles in our facility.
What do we do?
We are here to provide pet reptiles with proper housing, food, light and heating, and if needed medical care, as directed by an exotic veterinarian. Our ultimate goal is to find these reptiles their new forever homes. We accept surrenders at our facility directly. When we receive a reptile in, we do an extensive physical examination to make sure the reptile is healthy. We quarantine new arrivals for 7-10 days. We do this to ensure they are eating, going to the bathroom, and are physically healthy. If we find that one of the reptiles is not well then, we schedule an appointment with our local exotic veterinarian. When the reptile is given a clean bill of health, we place them up for adoption. Adoptees must have experience with reptiles, proper enclosure set up (pictures required), and a veterinary reference to qualify as an adoptee for any of our reptiles.
